Abriu a Inky, a primeira galeria de “street art” do Porto

Trabalhou num escritório de uma empresa de transportes no regime “9 às 5″, mas só pensava em sair daquelas 4 paredes e pintar ao ar livre. Nesses tempos na empresa do pai, deitava-se muitas vezes às 6 da manhã, depois de uma noitada a pintar nas ruas do Porto, e acordava, estremunhado, para mais um dia no escritório.

Com algumas poupanças, André Silveira, “Dub” no mundo do graffitiportuense, arriscou e abriu a primeira galeria de street art da cidade. A Inky abriu portas este mês na Rua Coelho Neto, perto do Campo 24 de Agosto.

A Inky, que é também uma loja (vende latas de tinta, marcadores, rolos e pincéis e presta serviços de pintura, para lojas ou empresas, por exemplo, contando para isso com uma “rede de graffiters“), quer afirmar-se também como uma galeria de arte, o seu factor distintivo.

Faltava um espaço dedicado a esta forma artística, acredita André, 31 anos, há 12 a pintar nas ruas, que sonha “dignificar o graffiti” e, “de uma forma legal, mudar a mente” das pessoas. Diz quem já teve que pagar várias multas por pintar na rua, depois de, enquanto estudante de artes, perceber que o mundo lá fora lhe oferecia as maiores e melhores telas.

“As pessoas ainda acham que é vandalismo”, sentencia. E no Porto, cujo autarcatem criticado várias vezes a profusão de graffitis, essa missão quase pedagógica que a Inky assume é ainda mais complicada, refere.

“Nem sequer há autorizações para pintar”, critica. “Mesmo em festivais [degraffiti] não há autorizações [concedidas pela autarquia]. A Câmara do Porto é muito fechada”, lamenta André, que prepara para o Verão workshops sobre o tema para crianças.

A primeira exposição da Inky é de Hazul, referência da street art do Porto, que mostra ilustrações e pintou uma parede da galeria. Outra parede foi inteiramente pintada por Dub, que a renovará a cada estação do ano. “O conceito [da Inky] é estar sempre a mudar”.

The funny part of caring nothing about what’s trendy nowadays is when I discover, by a friend, that my Misako handbag is similar to some other brand’s bag.

Curious is that my bag is just like Mulberry’s Alexa handbag and, even though I didn’t know Mulberry’s bags collection, I was a huge fan of Mulberry’s women wear already.

I think we all look for things with character, though we don’t exactly know how or why - and with no regards for trends. Or are we all unconscious products of consumerism society? :)

Awesome work by Sehsucht™., an Hamburg based Motion Design studio, for MTV new identities.

Furry monsters cuddling, welcoming the viewer to a brand new series of MTV idents from 1 July 2011 – motion design studio Sehsucht of Berlin/Germany has created and animated „Close & Caring“, one of six new MTV idents (duration: 20 sec.). „Close & Caring“ conveys a look and feel that equals the warmth and feeling of a hug, as simple as holding hands or sinking under your duvet. Sehsucht created the cute little beasts, developed the story concept, built the vignettes, covered the overall production and post-production (editing, retouching, color-correction, special effects), and created the print templates.
